For my storyboarding class at SCAD, I was required to storyboard two network IDs for Comedy Central. I wanted to keep both IDs looking pretty different from one another to give myself the opportunity to push the brand's limits. For the first set (below), I was inspired by stand-up comedy nights and wanted to incorporate the Comedy Central logo as a flickering neon sign. The frames transition from one to the next via the curtains opening and the camera zooming in to the flickering neon sign.
For the second set of frames, I wanted this network ID to be an entirely different aeshtetic from the first ID. I wanted to incorporate some simple vector elements and stick to the brand's simple yellow and black color palette. I decided to incorporate the network's most popular shows: starting with South Park, then moving on to Tosh.0 and Chappelle's Show. The frames transition from one to the next via the big vector circle in the center expanding into the next frame.
