Hi, I'm Lindsey Haywood
I grew up near Orlando; home to theme parks, alligators, and famous Publix “Pub Subs.” Though I grew up in the sunshine state, my childhood wasn’t always the sunniest. At nine years old, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (aka Juvenile Diabetes), an autoimmune disease where the pancreas no longer produces insulin. Having such a huge responsibility, my health, before the age of ten, was tough, but the experience has made me a better person and has given me a different perspective and outlook on the world.

For undergrad, I decided to move to Gainesville and attend the University of Florida, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Arts and Sciences Engineering. My time as a UF student gave me some irreplaceable experiences and friendships. After graduation in December of 2018, I was dead set on continuing my studies in graduate school. When I discovered the Motion Media Design MFA program at SCAD, I knew I found the perfect merging of my two interests: animation and graphic design. I completed my graduate program in the summer of 2023.

When it comes to my work, I am influenced by my past and my surroundings, by my friends and my experiences. I am inspired by feelings, emotions, and themes of nostalgia. I consider myself to be a very colorful and bright individual, and I'm sure my work and portfolio reflect that.

Outside of creating, you’ll find me traveling, petting my cat, hanging with friends, finding the best local Mexican restaurant in my area, and touting my love for all-things astrology. I’m a Cancer sun (probably why I’m inspired by themes of nostalgia), Sagittarius moon, and Taurus rising… for those of you wondering.
